Voters in Kyrgyzstan are due to choose a new president on Sunday. On the same day, this Central Asian country of six million people will also be voting in a referendum, on whether to switch from a semi-parliamentary to a semi-presidential regime. That means giving the incoming president significantly more power. In October last year, both the parliament and the then president were ousted amid violent protests. Some called it a revolution, others a coup d’état. Our correspondents report from Kyrgyzstan ahead of Sunday’s vote.
