Five people stabbed during bloody night in Sydney’s west

Five people were rushed to hospital on Saturday night after being stabbed in a series of attacks across western Sydney.

There were separate stabbings in Sydney’s west overnight.

Police believe most of the attacks are unrelated, but are probing if two are linked.

The first stabbing happened at Northmead just before midnight.

Paramedics treated a man for injuries in Northmead after a stabbing on Saturday night, May 15, 2021.

Police and emergency services were called to a home in Hammers Road and found a 19-year-old man who had been stabbed in the stomach.

He was treated by paramedics before being taken to Westmead Hospital in a stable condition.

Meanwhile, a 25-year-old man was found on Waikanda Crescent in Whalan, Blacktown, after being stabbed multiple times in the torso at 12.45am this morning.

Police have been told a fight broke out at a party at a nearby home.

A broken glass bottle was found at the scene and will be examined by forensic investigators.

The injured man was treated by paramedics and taken to Westmead Hospital in a critical but stable condition.

In another incident also at Whalan, a 20-year-old man was stabbed in the arm at an altercation in Morseby Crescent just after 2am.

He was treated by paramedics and taken to Westmead Hospital to undergo surgery for non-life-threatening injuries.

Detectives are investigating both incidents, and are not yet sure if they are linked.

Meanwhile, a 15-year-old boy was stabbed in the stomach and arm at the intersection of Kildare Road and Myall Street in Doonside, about 1.15am.

Police were told the teen was injured after a verbal altercation with a boy, known to him, who allegedly produced a knife.

The injured teen was treated by paramedics and taken to the Children’s Hospital at Westmead in a stable condition.

A knife was found in a nearby drain and an 18-year-old was arrested nearby and taken to Blacktown Police Station.

He was charged with wound person with intent to cause grievous bodily harm and refused bail.

He is due to appear at Parramatta Local Court today.

In the final incident, a man turned up at Cabramatta Police Station at 2.40am this morning after being stabbed in the arm.

The 49-year-old man told police he was stabbed during a home invasion at a unit on John Street.

He was treated by paramedics and taken to Liverpool Hospital in a stable condition.

A crime scene has been established at the unit and detectives from Fairfield City Police Area Command are investigating.
