Cyclist killed in hit-run collision in Melbourne

A cyclist has been killed in a hit-run crash in Melbourne‘s south east.

The incident occurred at the intersection of Hallam and Pound roads in Hampton Park when a vehicle and cyclist collided before 4.30am.

According to Victoria Police, the driver of a vehicle failed to stop after the crash.

The cyclist, a man in his 50s, later died at the scene.

Police are calling for witnesses as they investigate exactly what occurred.

Hallam Road has been closed in both directions, while Pound Road is closed west bound.
