Man charged after alleged $460k heist at Sydney Louis Vuitton store

A man has been charged after he allegedly stole almost $500,000 worth of luxury goods from a Louis Vuitton store in Sydney.

Police allege a man broke into the shop on George Street in Sydney’s CBD on January 1 at about 3.30am.

The man initially stole a handbag from the store, later returning with two wheelie bins and stealing more handbags and clothing.

The 38-year-old was charged with break and enter offences today.

The estimated value of the almost 100 items stolen is more than $460,000.

CCTV vision was released by police last week as part of investigations into the theft.

Police attended a motel on Liverpool Road, Ashfield, and arrested a 38-year-old man.

Several items were seized from the hotel room, including three luxury handbags.

The 38-year-old was taken to Burwood Police Station where he was charged with breaking and entering.

The man was refused bail and will appear at Burwood Local Court today.
