Baby girl dies after hit by car in driveway

A 20-month-old girl has died after being hit by a vehicle in Broome on Friday night.

Western Australian police said the girl was at her home in Broome about 7.15pm when it was believed she was hit by a visiting vehicle on the family’s driveway.

The injured girl was placed in the vehicle and taken to Broome Hospital with her family, but she later died, according to police.

The death is not being treated as suspicious.

Broome detectives are calling on the public for any information regarding the incident.

A report is set to be prepared for the coroner regarding the infant’s death.
