A large-scale search for a nine-year-old girl missing from the Blue Mountains is entering a second day.

Charlise Mutten was reported missing from a Mount Wilson property, around 60 kilometres from Richmond, about 8:20am on Friday.

Police said she had not been seen since Thursday.

Police described her as being of Caucasian appearance, with a thin build and brown hair and eyes.

Charlise is about 130-140 centimetres tall.

It is believed she was wearing a pink top with a round collar, a black knee-length skirt and pink Nike thongs.

Searching continued through the night and after a brief pause resumed this morning.

More than 100 emergency services personnel, including NSW Police, Ambulance and Rural Fire Service, are involved in the search.

A command post has been set up at the local RFS station and a geo text message has been sent to residents in the area who might have seen her.
