As a heatwave scorches residents in India’s western state of Rajasthan, special trains carrying water have brought much-needed relief to struggling residents in the Pali district. “This time the crisis is severe. Never have we seen this crisis in April, but this year the water scarcity started in April. That’s why we had to run these water trains”, Pali Manwar railway station manager Prakash Purohit says.
