Labor doubles down on broken promise

For the second consecutive day, the Albanese Labor Government have refused to stand by their commitment to reduce power bills by $275 for Australian households.

Asked in Question Time today whether Labor would honour the election promise they made to Australian families Prime Minister Albanese was deafeningly silent.

Shadow Minister for Climate Change and Energy Ted O’Brien MP said that Australians are staring down a cost-of-living crisis, with the highest level of inflation for more than 20 years, and are owed a straight answer from their Government.

“The Prime Minister has waxed lyrical about a new era in politics yet has misled Australians at every opportunity on power prices,” Mr O’Brien said.

“I call on Prime Minister Albanese to come clean to the Australian people and tell them that there is no relief in sight when it comes to their energy bills.

“Labor has no plan to secure our energy supplies and get power prices back down.
