‘I’ve lost hope’: Taliban orders beauty parlours to shut

The Taliban has given beauty salons across Afghanistan one month’s notice before they will be forced to close their doors, removing one of the few business opportunities for women in the country and one of the last places they could socialise outside of the home, following the barring of women and girls from high schools, universities and many public spaces.
