Paraglider rescued from 40 metre cliff fall

A paraglider has been rescued from the side of a cliff in South Australia after his parachute became entangled on rocks more than 40 metres above the ground.

Another paraglider saw the man and alerted emergency services to the man’s location at Waitpinga.

South Australian firefighter and paramedic teams were lowered down to the 35-year-old man, with the entire rescue taking one hour.

The injured man was carried out on a stretcher and suffered only leg injuries during the incident.
