‘About time’: Morrison ‘states the bleeding obvious’ about identity politics

What to watch next

Sky News contributor Caleb Bond says it’s about time an Australian political leader “stated the bleeding obvious” which is that normal people “don’t care about identity politics”.

It comes after Prime Minister Scott Morrison, during an address at the United Israel Appeal Dinner spoke on issues including social media and identity politics.

“You are more than your gender, you are more than your race, you are more than your sexuality, you are more than your ethnicity, you are more than your religion, your language group, your age,” Mr Morrison said.

According to Mr Bond, the prime minister “stated the bleeding obvious”.

“People don’t care about identity politics, because normal people are trying to put meals on the table, support their children, and make a better life for themselves and their children,” he said.
