Three men die after taking Spice in Newcastle over weekend

Eleven suspected drug dealers were arrested following an investigation sparked by the deaths of three men thought to be relating to taking Spice. 

The three deaths in Newcastle took place over the bank holidays weekend, Northumbria Police said. 

Along with the eleven arrests, drugs have been seized following a ‘thorough investigation into recent drug supply’, a spokesman said. 

They added: ‘Officers began their investigation following the deaths of three men in Newcastle over the bank holiday weekend.

‘The deaths are thought to relate to the drug Spice and an investigation was quickly launched to find those believed to be responsible.

‘Following extensive enquiries officers have now made 11 arrests in connection with their investigation.
