Man found dead after granny flat goes up in flames in Sydney

Police are investigating after a man’s body was found inside a granny flat during a fire in Sydney’s southwest.

Emergency services were called to a property in Glenfield about 4.20pm this afternoon after a fire broke out.

Firefighters found the body while trying to extinguish the blaze.

As firefights extinguished the blaze in a granny flat on Belmont Road they found a man’s body.

Campbelltown City Police Area Command have established a crime scene and are investigating the circumstances surrounding the blaze.

A report will be prepared for the coroner.
