Beatrice and Eugenie are joined by Zara Tindall at Scott’s restaurant

Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie were joined by Zara Tindall for a long lunch at celebrity favourite Scott’s restaurant after Prince Philip’s memorial service on Tuesday.

The cousins, alongside their husbands, Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi, Jack Brooksbatnk and Mike Tindall, came together for a lengthy meal at the exclusive eatery after they all attended the service at Westminster Abbey earlier this week.

After the event, they were spotted dining out for a long lunch at the restaurant in Mayfair and appeared in good spirits as they left the high-end eatery.

It was a rare outing for the cousins, whose parents Prince Andrew and Princess Anne are siblings, who were appeared to be gathering to remember their grandfather with an intimate meal after the memorial service at the abbey.

Snaps of the meal emerged today as a royal expert claimed the Duke and Duchess of Sussex will be aware that missing the Duke of Edinburgh‘s memorial service for Prince Philip has made them look ‘petulant and rude.’

Princess Beatrice, 33, stepped out in a burgundy dress with coordinating heels and a black coat, alongside her polished husband Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi, 38.

The mother-of-one appeared to be wearing minimal makeup but wore her hair in loose curls for understated glamour.

Meanwhile Princess Eugenie, 32, who was comforted by husband Jack Brooksbank, 35, cut a stylish figure in a floral midi dress by British fashion designer Erdem worth £1,695.

She teamed the look with a cropped black jacket and matching headband that swept her hair off her face.

Meanwhile Zara Tindall was joined by her husband Mike for the meal.

The mother-of-three looked poised as she wore an understated Laura Green navy coat which she paired with elegant silver earrings, as she was joined by her husband Mike for the event.

Zara accessorised with a chic Bee Smith velvet headband, a leather clutch bag and she added height to her frame in matching stilettos.

Mike looked smart in a grey tailored suit which he paired with a white shirt and a navy tie.

The couple had earlier been joined by their eldest daughter Mia, eight, at Westminster Abbey for the service, however it does not appear Mia was invited to the lunch.

The little eight-year-old,  who wore a black peplum coat with red piping along the cuffs and collar, may have travelled back to Gatcombe estate with Zara’s brother Peter Philips and his children Isla and Savannah Philips, who were also not present at the meal.

Princess Beatrice was particularly emotional at the event, tearing up as she watched her father the Duke of York accompanied the monarch down the aisle at Westminster Abbey, seemingly overcome by the significance of the moment.

To the shock of many in the congregation, including, apparently, Beatrice, the shamed royal, 62, escorted his mother, 95, all the way down to her front-row position – in full view of the live broadcast cameras – after travelling with her from Windsor.

It had been expected that the Dean of Westminster would take the Queen to her seat, with Andrew behind. The decision to have Andrew walk her down the aisle instead is being interpreted as an ‘endorsement’ by Her Majesty.

Shortly after laying eyes on her father and the Queen, Beatrice covered her face with the order of service. She then stood mutely while others around her sang, apparently trying to hold in tears.

The emotion would have also been driven by the personal loss she felt at the death of her beloved grandfather the Duke of Edinburgh, with whom she shared a close relationship.

As Camilla Tominey noted in the Daily Telegraph: ‘The very personal nature of such a public commemoration hit home when Beatrice, 33, started sobbing upon sight of her grandmother and father, arm in arm, covering her tearful face with her order of service.’

It’s been a difficult period for Beatrice, who royal commentators have previously said has been ‘devastated’ by accusations by Virginia Giuffre that the Duke of York sexually assaulted her. Prince Andrew has categorically denied the accusations.

Scott’s has long been a royal favourite, but also boasts numerous celebrity fans.

It was also the scene of the infamous nose-tweaking incident between Nigella Lawson and then husband Charles Saatchi last summer that led directly to the end of their marriage.

Other famous diners to patronise the restaurant include Formula 1 heiress Tamara Ecclestone, rocker Ronnie Wood and his 37-year-old wife Sally Humphreys.

A seafood restaurant, it is described on its website as offering ‘the finest oysters, fish and crustacea’ and also has an attached champagne bar.

The menu includes a choice of seven different types of oyster, including the Dungarvan Rocks variety for £16.95 for six, and Beluga caviar for an eye-watering £70 for just 10g.

Other options include a smoked salmon starter for £16.25 and a whole grilled lobster for a relatively reasonable £21.

The photographs emerged today as Ingrid Seward said Prince Harry and Meghan Markle ‘missed an opportunity’ by not attending the service.

Prince Harry, 37 and Meghan Markle, 40, were notable in their absence as the Queen, 95, senior royals, politicians, European royals and friends gathered in Westminster Abbey to pay tribute to Prince Philip.

The couple, who live in Montecito, California with their son Archie, two, and nine-month-old daughter Lilibet, announced in March they would not come to the UK for the memorial.

The Duke is pursuing a legal challenge against the Home Office after being told he would no longer be given the ‘same degree’ of personal protective security when visiting from the US, despite offering to pay for it himself.

Royal author and editor-in-chief of Majesty magazine Ingrid Seward, who penned Prince Philip Revealed, told The Mirror the couple ‘missed an opportunity’ by not attending the service.

She added they would have been aware of the optics of their decision not to attend, and that it would make them look ‘petulant and rude.’
