China says its current wave of COVID infections nearing an end

There were some 226 million domestic trips in China for the Lunar Year Holiday which came as the country lifted harsh zero covid travel restrictions for the first time in three years. Well the government insists the uptick in travel did not come with a spike in cases, the Chinese Center for Disease Control and Prevention even saying the current wave of infections is comin to an end. Between the 20th and 26th of January, the country officially reported around 6 300 new infections, down from over 12,600 the prior week. FRANCE 24’s Beijing correspondent Yena Lee tells us more.
